1. Cut 6" x 6" lumber for frame.
Materials Needed to Build a 4 x 8 Bridge


Four (4)   -  2" x 12" x 8' treated lumber
Three (3) -  6" x 6" x 8' treated lumber
One (1)    - 2" x 6" x 8' treated lumber
One (1)    - 2" x 6" x 12' treated lumber
Six (6)      -  joist hangers rated for ACQ treated lumber use
1 box        -  1 1/2" deck screws rated for ACQ treated lumber
1 box        -   2" deck screws rated for ACQ treated lumber
Power saw
Drill and bits
Measuring Tape
Marking pencil
2. Cut 2" x 6" lumber for the four corner supports and fasten with deck screws.  Pre-drill pilot holes if needed.
3. Secure support brackets - three on 8 foot sides.
4. Cut and insert 2" x 6" sections into joist brackets.
Securely fasten with deck screws.
5. Fasten 12" x 8' planks to top.
Place bridge on a level surface. 
It will be heavy, so building it near the location is a good idea.
