The horse must look down, watch where she is going and focus on the poles.               "Capture" the head by shortening the reins to establish bit contact, and squeeze with both legs. As soon as she starts to lower her neck, release the rein and allow the head to lower.  Do not ask the horse to walk forward until she has lowered her head
