How to Apply a Bandage to the Sole of a Horse's Hoof
Treating an abscess in the equine hoof can be challenging.  Keeping the area clean and the medication in place is very important.
Apply the recommended medication, in the demo video we used ichthammol, which is a drawing salve.  Other medications could be poultices or antiboitic ointments - depending on the injury being treated.  Consult your veterinarian.
Once the medication is applied, cover it with a clean cloth, wrap the area and hoof with a bandage.  We used an elastic bandage for the demostration.  Then for added protection duct tape is used.
Follow your vet's directions on how often to change the dressing.
